Welcome to the much maligned world of Sales Promotion which despite rumours to the contrary, is truly the world's oldest profession. Ever since Man started to sell something, he has wanted to add a 'free' to this or a "BOGOF" to that and as such, a marketing discipline was born. Indeed some would claim (well me actually) that the whole Marketing industry is in fact based on sales promotion as by its very raison d'etre - the whole shooting match is about selling stuff.
